This is the last module I took where I personally participated enough to produce a good write-up. After this, I worked the match and then I helped break down. This was a great way to finish my weekend, and I'll tell you why.
Rhett Neumayer has a super-chill teaching style and a presentation that even kids can understand. That's refreshing, because it doesn't rely on me knowing everything on the front end. It's ok for me not to know things, because he fills them in where appropriate.
Rhett has found the cheat code for hiding a Glock 19 in board shorts and flip-flops, and that's something I can deeply appreciate. With plenty of demos and practice, I took away a crap-ton from this. More importantly, I am now better prepared to help clients that don't wear belts or pants. In the summertime, this really shines.
Once we all felt comfortable enough to proceed, we did some live fire that was extremely productive. Yes, it's a new-ish draw style, so I lost a quarter-second. That's a problem that dry fire will fix, and I picked up enough to make it repeatable, even if I'm not unconsciously competent yet.
This was one of the few modules where I went in feeling out of my depth, and it was not a problem for Rhett. He's a solid teacher that meets people where. I'm glad I got a chance to see him in action.
